Each and every day there are countless people in the world creating truly stunning works of art.
And a lot of these people are also trying to sell these artworks. Unfortunately it seems that there just isn't enough people out there buying all this art. So, if you're an artist, you might ask yourself, "what's the point creating art, if the chances of someone buying what you create is slim?" The only answer I keep coming up with is, "because you love to create art, that's why." If you don't love the process of creating art, then I think you'll find that you will never be content as an artist.
Art is subjective and to make matters worse, the world is full of critics. There's always going to be people out there to tear you down and tell you that you work just isn't good enough. This is why I think that in order to be a happy artist, you first have to be happy with the process of creating art. Whatever your creative process is, you have to love doing it. And I think if you truly love doing what you do, it will show in what you create. If you're not happy with yourself and your process of creating art, well, most likely that will show in your creations as well. And like most things in life, the more you practice that process, the better you get at it doing it. |
