Even though I don't watch any T.V., I am a big music & movie lover. Unfortunately I have trouble finding movies that tickle my imagination and leave me with a sense of satisfaction after the movie is over. The following list of movies are some of my favorites. I'll try and update this list as time progresses... (not listed in any order)
Letters From Iwo Jima
2006 - After watching this film, I found myself thinking about it for days. What it must have been like to be living and working on that island waiting to be invaded. How these men knew that this is where they were going to die, with very little hope that they would ever seen their loved ones again. Even though, Clint Eastwood doesn't speak Japanese he took on the challenge of creating this movie and directing an all Japanese cast. I think there are certain events in history that most people would rather forget. But over 30,000 people died in this war, and I think they deserve to be remembered... Japanese or American. This movie I think illustrates that point very well.

Peaceful Warrior
2006 - Dan Millman (Mechlowicz) is a talented college gymnast with Olympic dreams. He has it all: trophies, teammates, fast motorcycles, fast girls and wild parties. Then Dan's world is turned upside down when he meets a mysterious stranger he calls Socrates (Nolte), who holds the power to tap into new worlds of strength and understanding. After a serious injury, with the help of Socrates and an elusive young woman named Joy (Smart), Dan discovers that he has much to learn and even more to leave behind before he can become a peaceful warrior and find his destiny. This moving tale about the power of the human spirit is based on Dan Millman's best-selling autobiographical novel, Way of the Peaceful Warrior. (Lionsgate)

Empire Of The Sun
1987 - The idea of being a child in the middle of a war, is a frightening thought. And the thought of being separated from your parents during that time is even more frightening. I think Steven Spielberg does a great job interpreting J.G. Ballard's novel in his 1987 movie. An intereesting movie about seeing war through the eyes of a child.

An Inconvenient Truth
2006 - As it happened, my neighbor lent me this movie to watch. After watching this film, I thought, "If you're going to spend your life doing something, why not spend it trying to help the people of the entire world?" Al Gore truly has put his best foot forward in creating this slide show and film. Facts and images that make you think about what we are doing to this planet. We truly need to look at our current trends of consumerism and put some checks and balances to try and bring all of this global warming to a stop. I think Mr. Gore is right to say that it needs to be a worldwide effort if anything is to change at all.

Stranger Than Fiction
2006 - I like films like this. Films that make you think about your own life and leave you asking questions of how you spend your time everyday. Plus if you like Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson, this is a must see.
