This study was actually inspired by a series of time lapse images I took while back. I would put my camera on a tripod and set the digital timer to expose a number of images over a designated time period. After I downloaded the images to my computer, I noticed a graphic patterns being created in the software as the image loaded one after the other. I'm sure you've seen this done before (see link examples of photo mosaics on the left), where images of like color/hue are placed in order to create a picture, almost as if you were painting with photos. I thought I'd apply this thinking to the Camera Giveaway page and see what kind of image was created by threading 99 images together in 1.
In this case, I decided that I would shoot 2 different subjects and see how they would come together in one image. I thought it was interesting how the circular center of the yellow flower created a dot pattern over the top part of the image. Maybe this is the key to success for this experiment. One item needs to be constant in every frame in order to thread the image together. Either that or keep the color/hue the same, like the green on the bottom half of the image.
After the images were formatted for the web and the page was loaded to the web, I wanted to somehow merge the photo together by some sort of graphic element. In this case I used "Fella Parts", which seemed to do the trick nicely. I soon found that the combinations of photo designs are endless...
