EXPERIMENT 02
20070325_1760-2/ I WANTED TO TRY AND CREATE A LAYOUT THAT CONTINUED HORIZONTALLY AND NOT VERTICALLY. THIS LAYOUT SEEMED APPEALING TO ME. I LIKED HOW THE IMAGES SEEMED TO BLEND INTO EACH OTHER. AND TO READ THE TEXT YOU HAD TO SCROLL TO SEE WHAT'S HIDDEN OFF THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE SCREEN.

I'd like to create a number of HTML pages that showcase photography in a interesting manner. Unfortunately the only way to get complex layering is to do that in photoshop then import that into you HTML pages. I like using the layers feature in Dreamweaver, but I find the layouts to be unpredictable in different browsers. I think it's best to "anchor" your pages to the and edge allowing some sort of structure for the page. I have always been a fan of multi-layered files, but sometimes I think it can make it difficult for the viewer to grasp the content quickly. I think this is why you find so many ecommerce sites all look the same.

I'd like to create some other pages using this horizontal format. I've found that it is more common now a days for people to have large monitors and before we know it, flatscreens will be a standard for most homes and business. I think it makes sense to start thinking in that direction.
