I've always been enchanted by the science and art of infrared photography. When I was in college I experimented with Kodak's High-Speed Infrared Film / HSI / 4143 as well as Konica's Infrared 750 film. I soon learned that creating a quality image was no easy task. Recently I have been experimenting with color as well as black and white infrared photography, using a Hoya r72 digital infrared filter with my Canon 5D DSLR. I also have tried creating some infrared pinhole images with the mintycam, by inserting a No. 25 red filter inside of the altoids tin. This can be tricky, due to the fact that the camera needs to be loaded and unloaded in complete darkness. I also have had more success using wide angle lenses, setting the ISO between 100 - 200 at apertures from f1.4 to f 8. I also have enjoyed shooting with and without a tripod to get different results due to the long exposures needed.
